The Story Behind the Product / Our Brand Story

HID-Labs is a full-service brand founded in 2018 that handles customization, import, and manufacturing of gaming gear. We’ve fulfilled thousands of custom orders to date, serving everyone from everyday players to professionals competing on the world stage.

Every member of our team is an FPS player. From 2020 to 2022, working in the 5v5 competitive scene reaffirmed for us that sound is a decisive factor in winning or losing.
Yet at the time, truly FPS-optimized earphones were rare—and the few that existed were hard to obtain.
The fact that many users relied on music-first products made it clear how little gamer-centric design there was in the market.

So we decided to build it ourselves and launched the development project.
Over the next several years, we obsessed over every detail—from materials, design, and geometry to injection-mold tooling, domestic assembly in Japan, and rigorous inspection.

— DETECT, the earphone honed to deliver only the sounds that matter in FPS, was born.

Frequency Response

A deep-insert design—difficult to achieve with typical headsets or over-ear earphones—minimizes sound changes caused by individual ear-canal differences, delivering accurate frequency response and precise localization for any wearer.
Because the frequency response is tuned to deliver the localization cues used in FPS games to the ear, it is fundamentally different from music-oriented earphones.

As a result, match-deciding details—enemy footsteps, reloads, and more—stand out clearly even beneath gunfire and explosions.

High-precision Knowles balanced-armature drivers.
An ultra-small diaphragm delivers exceptional transient response—lightning-fast attack and clean decay—so gunshots and footsteps have razor-sharp edges and clear on/off timing, letting you localize sources more precisely.
The tuning eschews the “reverb” and “coloration” common to music-first earphones, reproducing HRTF-processed game audio as intended. No extra effects—just the decisive edges that win.

Comfort & Passive Noise Isolation

PC setups are surrounded by constant fan noise, HVAC hum, everyday sounds, and outdoor noise that distract from gameplay.
This product uses Westone Audio STAR™ Silicone eartips to provide up to approx. 12 dB of passive isolation, while effectively reducing the high-frequency noise that ANC methods often fail to remove.
Where multi-flange or foam tips can deliver high isolation at the cost of pressure and heat buildup, these tips strike an optimal balance of long-wear comfort and noise blocking.

Ultra-Compact Design

An ultra-compact body offers two key advantages.
First, by avoiding an over-ear–only form factor and using a narrow-bore nozzle, it enables deep insertion for more consistent, accurate reproduction.
Second, the slim, short, low-profile shell also accommodates over-ear wear and won’t interfere even when you layer a headset on top.
This wear-agnostic design lets every user personalize the optimal position.

Premium Cable

Linum® Music cable pairs an ultra-thin, ultra-flexible construction with high tensile strength for an “almost wireless” wearing feel.
Unlike typical music earphones, this model doesn’t offer “recabling” because it ships with a top-tier cable from the start—there’s nothing to upgrade.
Although hardwired (non-detachable), our testing shows that, when handled properly, it withstands at least two years of use without cable failure.

High-Impedance design

Even if the output from a PC or audio interface carries white noise (hiss), the high-impedance design keeps it to a minimum.
This greatly lowers the noise floor at your ears, avoiding issues common with high-sensitivity earphones and keeping the sound clear even on provided gear at internet cafés or tournament venues.
